Once upon a time, in a land filled with hops and barley, there existed a club unlike any other — a place where every pint poured held a hint of enchantment. Its members were no ordinary folk — they were adventurous, passionate and thirsty for the next chapter in our ever-evolving story.
We’re thrilled to invite you into the captivating world of the Brothers Grimm, where the magic continues. This special collection is inspired by timeless fairy tales, where each beer has been crafted to reflect the spirit of these iconic stories. We’ve enlisted four imaginative brewers to bring these stories to life with unique twists on traditional styles. Cheers to the stories that never grow old — and the beers that bring them to life.
Welcome to Release No. 27 // The Brewers Grimm
We begin our story in the Deep Dark Woods, a spruce IPA from New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins, CO. This golden brew bursts with spruce aroma, balanced by pine and citrus. It offers notes of malt and fruity sweetness up front, with a smooth, bitter finish that lingers like the echo of a growl. This ode to the eerie tale of “Little Red Riding Hood” captures the essence of the forest, plus a whisper of cautionary tales. Watch out for the Big Bad Wolf!
Next, we have Rumpleweizen, a Dunkelweizen that spins classic ingredients into liquid gold. This hazy amber by BuckleDown Brewing from Lyons, IL, gives off aromas of toasted biscuit, banana and a touch of clove. Mysterious and just a little bit mischievous, like Rumpelstiltskin himself, this brew is a flavorful riddle worth unraveling — just be careful whose name you guess.
The story continues with O’Brother Stag, a tangerine Kölsch-style ale as dazzling as the tale itself. Brewed by 21st Amendment Brewery from San Francisco, CA, this bright, straw-colored brew has a citrusy aroma that beckons like a mysterious forest. Beneath it all lies a smooth, subtle malt backbone that lets the vibrant fruit flavor shine through — much like the noble stag who guards the secret within “The Glass Coffin.”
Lastly, follow the trail of Liquid Breadcrumbs, a West Coast pilsner from Brewery X in Anaheim, CA. Floral aromatics lead the way, with hints of lemongrass and guava guiding your senses deeper into the story of Hansel and Gretel. It features a delicate maltiness that’s impossible to resist, while earthy, citrusy hops add a touch of curiosity. With a refreshing lemon-lime brightness, this brew is as tempting as a trail of sweets leading to something totally unexpected.
